Concrete safety improvements underway

From today, 29 April 2026, contractors will be on site at Te Awahou Riverside Cultural Park to improve slippery concrete areas around Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom, the windmill and gardens. This work will take a few days and happen in sections, with temporary barriers in place. All buildings remain accessible. Thank you for your patience while we do the mahi.

Event postponed
This event is being postponed to 30 June due to the current weather conditions which is causing flooding of the Manawatu river mouth. This does not directly affect the chosen bonfire site. However the access route the vehicles use maybe unstable and boggy.
