From today, 29 April 2026, contractors will be on site at Te Awahou Riverside Cultural Park to improve slippery concrete areas around Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom, the windmill and gardens. This work will take a few days and happen in sections, with temporary barriers in place. All buildings remain accessible. Thank you for your patience while we do the mahi.
This year you can weave your own Whetū Harakeke (flax star) during one of our workshops. The woven Whetū Harakeke not only look amazing, but are the perfect craft to discuss what Matariki means to you and what your dreams, wishes, hopes and aspirations for a prosperous new year will be.
Join our workshops to make your own Whetū Harakeke. We are partnering with Te Kokiri Development Consultancy to bring you this wonderful activity.
