From today, 29 April 2026, contractors will be on site at Te Awahou Riverside Cultural Park to improve slippery concrete areas around Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom, the windmill and gardens. This work will take a few days and happen in sections, with temporary barriers in place. All buildings remain accessible. Thank you for your patience while we do the mahi.
This event aims to create connections by allowing people to meet organisations that have volunteer opportunities as well as the services they provide to the local community. A day dedicated to inform, promote and engage; when people will find out new ways to contribute to a positive change in society.
This is your chance to meet organisations that have volunteering opportunities. Come and find out what services they provide, what roles they have available and how you can contribute. Many organisations rely on volunteers to keep running, so join them and make a difference.
This is an opportunity to present yourselves to potential volunteers, highlight the amazing work you do to support our community and showcase the roles they might be suitable to. It is a chance to engage new people and expand your volunteer base. There's no cost to be an exhibitor, just contact us for more information: events@vrcmanawatu.org.nz
