MAVtech Film Night

On the last Friday of each month, MAVtech opens its museum's doors at 6pm for viewing of our nostalgic audio visual things from the past, things our grandparents used to listen to and what they used to watch.

Come along for an old style cinema experience:

Retro screen advertisements
Pianola to start
Then the movie

At 7pm upstairs in the cinema dress circle you will be entertained by a selection of advertising from the past (comedy by today's standards).

While watching, your ears will be gently caressed by the wonderful tones of our piano, masterfully operated by Jim’s feet. As the house lights dim and the projectors start to purr, a picture appears on the screen, a newsreel, cartoon and then the feature film, all as it was in the hay-day of cinema. Unless the film breaks! That does happen at times, but this too is part of the whole real (reel) film experience.
