COVID-19: Operating at Orange

All of New Zealand is now at Orange in the COVID-19 Protection Framework.  A My Vaccine Pass is no longer required to access Horowhenua District Council’s community facilities and scanning requirements have also ended.

Community Hub and Library Sites under Orange

Controlled-access events can go ahead and there are no limits to how many can attend an event or public facility.  Face masks are still required indoors at public venues, except for swimming pools.  You don’t have to wear a face mask at an event, either indoors or outdoors. At all levels, the testing and isolation requirements remain as they are now.

All Community Hub and Library sites have resumed their normal operating hours. We may need to adapt if faced with staffing shortages due to necessary isolation. Should the Government announce any changes to the status, we'll publish updated information as soon as possible.

Other helpful information

• Face Masks are mandatory, unless at a controlled-access event.
• The Youth Space at Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō is closed to the public but will reopen to public from 2 May 2022
• The Mahi Space remains open as normal under the current traffic light setting
• Hand sanitiser is provided
• Physical distance from those you don't know
• Some programmes and resources may not be available
• Children 14 years and under must be accompanied by an adult

• Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō and Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom Cafés remain open.

Normal operating hours

Our normal operating hours are:

• Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 9am to 5.30pm, Wednesday - 10am to 9pm, Saturday - 10am to 4pm, Sunday - 1pm to 4pm
• Shannon Library: Monday to Friday, 10.00am - 12.00pm, 1.00pm - 5.00pm, Saturday - 10am to 12pm, Sunday - Closed
• Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Saturday & Sunday - 10am - to 4pm.
