Big Dutch Day Out - 2022

The Big Dutch Day Out, in Foxton, has been a funky family outing for many years now. Dutchies come together from all over the country to celebrate their Koningsdag - King's Birthday. 

Come and join us for a fun whānau day out. We’re giving away 300 FREE kites – vliegers – that the kids can colour in and fly high. Play 'medieval' Castle Games – Kasteel Spelen – or try out some of the weird ‘Odd Old Dutch Games’. The kids can learn ‘clog throwing’, ‘stiltwalking’, or ‘sackjumping’!

There will be yummie Dutch traditional foods. Watch De Molen grind flour, the way they did it 400 years ago. Let your kids buy toys 'n goodies on the FreeMarket - from other kids on the Vrijmarkt. And join us for the official opening of nationwide Dutch Week, and the opening of an impressive art exhibition: ‘Ans Westra Photographs: after Handboek’.
